My first aircooled VW was a 1971 VW Beetle in bright orange. I then traded it for a Turkish Blue 1973 aircooled campervan. My daughter 7 at the time loved our van. We would take it out on the school run every day. It gathered crowds everywhere we went. She was named Misty after we had her resprayed VW Pastel White.
Misty was modernised so that she could be easily used as a daily driver. This involved fitting Servo Assisted Brakes, Power Steering and a replacement engine and gearbox.
After a while the parents at the school were requesting to borrow Misty and that was how Campervanhire.co.uk was born.
Over the years I picked up more projects and restored them with the intention to make them as easy for anyone over the age of 21 to jump in and drive away.
All our vans are fitted with ample battery power and solar charging so you can live off grid. The original gas powered fridges were replaced with modern electric compressor fridges. Our vans are kitted up so you can have all the modern luxuries inside, but in a vintage stylish exterior
